COVID-19: 6,509 new cases, 61 deaths recorded, highest to date

Kuala Lumpur - On Monday, the number of COVID-19 deaths in Malaysia was the highest in 61 cases.


The total number of deaths with the outbreak is now 2,309.


Health Director General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah announced that there have been a total of six,509 new positive COVID-19 cases, taking the total cumulative to 518,600 cases at the same time.

The highest number of cases is recorded by Selangor (2.049), followed by Sarawk (530), Kelantan (451), and Johor and Kuala Lumpur with 468 cases respectively.


He explained 3,452 patients had been cured, representing 456,273 cases in total.

Furthermore in the world, there is now a total of 60,018 active cases.


He said that in the intensive care unit (ICU) 711 persons were treated and 369 of them had respirators.
