KUALA LUMPUR, 17 MAY 2021: According to National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme Coordinating Minister Khairy Jamaluddin, the second phase of applications for the AstraZeneca vaccine will be open exclusively to senior citizens aged 60 and above from May 23 to May 26.
Individuals on the first round waiting list will also be prioritised in the second phase of the vaccination.
The booking for vaccination slots can be made via the website https://www.vaksincovid.gov.my/ and through community outreach at the district health office level.

"After May 26, applications will be open to those under the age of 60," he said at a joint press conference with Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba on the National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme, which was conducted virtually today.
Khairy, who is also the Minister of Science, Technology, and Innovation, stated that the second phase of the AstraZeneca vaccination is being extended to other states outside of the Klang Valley, including Johor, Sarawak, and Penang, all of which have high COVID-19 figures.
On May 2, the government opened the first phase registration for the AstraZeneca vaccine voluntarily and openly for eligible individuals aged 18 and above, and the vaccination process began on May 5.
Malaysia is scheduled to receive 1.1 million doses of AstraZeneca vaccine by the end of this month via procurement from the COVAX facility.
