SERI KEMBANGAN: According to Khairy Jamaluddin, a "private company" has offered to sponsor two million doses of Sinovac vaccine to the Penang government today.
The National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme coordinating minister stated that he examined a copy of the letter detailing the offer received by Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow.
"This offer was discovered to be fraudulent. It is a scam and a fraud "He stated this during a press conference on Wednesday

He claimed the letter came from a man named Yong Chee Kong, who claimed to be a Malaysian working for Xintai Development Enterprise, which is based in Hong Kong.
A search for the company Xintai produced no results, he added.
The man stated that he was willing to pay a US$2 million deposit and had contacted Sinovac Biotech's international sales head, Coco Chang.
He also stated that after further investigation, no such application was made to Sinovac Biotech in China, and Coco Chang confirmed that she had not been in contact with anyone regarding the matter.
