KUALA LUMPUR, 10 MAY 2021: Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced that the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) will be imposed at Felda Kahang Timur, Johor, and Kampung Bako Hilir, Sarawak, for two weeks starting May 12, 2021.
“The two localities were reported to register a high number of new COVID-19 cases recently,” said Ismail Sabri.
The Ministry of Health (MOH) conducted 65 screening tests in Felda Kahang Timur, Kluang, Johor and 28 people were tested positive for COVID-19.

Meanwhile, in Kampung Bako Hilir in Kuching, 17 positive cases were detected from 62 screenings that was conducted on its residents.
MOH found a spike in cases and a high infectivity rate in these localities and has decided alongside the technical committee that these areas should be placed under the EMCO.
The government also opted to implement the EMCO until May 25 to allow authorities to continue tracking early cases and preventing the spread of the COVID-19 infections.
